Bundaberg

Start at Quay St rest area.

Kalkie School

The shelter shed seen from the road has a shingled roof.

Port Rd

Head/tail winds will be felt on this road. Watch for sugar and cane trucks during the Sugar crushing season June-November.

Burnett Heads

A great little park, with sheltered tables and toilets. A nice place for lunch whilst watching the coming and going of boats on the water.

Burnett Heads Shops

A small shopping centre that includes a Bakery, Pub and General store.

Burnett Heads Marina

If you like fishing this can be a good spot at the right time. Often there are some very nice boats moored in the marina.

Marina

A deviation to the right here takes you to another marina, with a restaurant and some other amenities. Many trawlers off load here.

Port

A deviation to the right here takes you to the Port facilities. If you have the time it is only a short deviation. If you're lucky there may be a ship docked.

Turn for the Ferry

A quick diversion to the river here takes you to the Sugar Cane ferry crossing and a boat ramp.

Ferry Crossing

The Sugar Cane ferry crossing and boat ramp. Typically there are a number of cars parked here where boats are launched to go fishing in the river.

Rubyanna Rd

Turn right into Rubyanna Rd, which takes you through some very quiet back roads surrounded by Sugar Cane and some small crops.

Kirbys Rd

Kirbys Rd takes you to the Burnett river.

Kirbys Wall

A rock wall on the river where locals often fish. There are some tables under large shady trees here.

Fishing Spots

There are many fishing spots along this section of road, with plenty of shady trees to rest under and take in the views of the Burnett River.

Bundaberg Rum Distillery and Millaquin Sugar Mill

To the right you will see the Bundaberg Rum Distillery and Millaquin Sugar Mill. The Distillery does tours at various times, so you may be able to time your ride with a tour.
